About This Site

This document is an introduction to Infrared Spectroscopy. It focuses on the physical processes that give rise to infrared absorption. This is shown using video clips of different vibrational modes. To view these vibrations you must have a fli video viewer such as aawin to view the *.flc files. aawin is a freely distributed viewer from Autodesk. You may download aawin from the Widener FTP site. The animation files are about 200k, so they may be slow to download over a modem.
