Class Activities and Assignments
The 4 topics in the intervening weeks are: 1)science, pseudoscience, religion and evolution, 2) environmental issues 3) biotechnology and 4) populations and human health. For each of these topics, you will be required to make a group presentation and write an individual paper. Other assignments include current events, opinion papers, action letters and others. These assignments will be describe in more detail.
Exams: NONE.
Make-ups: NONE
Attendance: Attendance is required, and will constitute part of your grade.
Academic Fraud: The Science Division strongly enforces Widener University's policy on cheating and other forms of academic fraud (Section G of the student handbook).
Grading

presentations ----------- 50 pts X 4 --------------------- 200 pts

other assignments ------------------------------------------- 350 pts
Total ------------------------------------------------------- 1000 pts
The total actual points may differ from 1000. Grades are based on the percent of points accumulated out of total possible points
> 90% - 100% A
> 80% - 89% B
> 70% - 79% C
> 60% - 69% D
The +/- system refines this scheme. THERE WILL BE NO CURVES.
